After a very long and snowy winter, and a cold and rainy start to the month of June, today felt like summer is finally here. It was warm, sunny and not a cloud in the sky during the day, and it was an even better afternoon on the field in Brewster as the Whitecaps took on the Orleans Firebirds. The smell of hot dogs and cracker jacks, and the sound of children running after foul balls filled the park. Fans filled the bleachers, anxious to watch this year’s new crop of players take the field. Its not really summer until the cape league players arrive and tonight’s game in Brewster was a nice reminder of how great this league is. The way each community comes together to support their town’s team is awesome and something everyone looks forward to all year long. The next two months go by fast, so do your best to attend as many games and visit as many parks as possible.
